Each day more are discovering their dollars go farther in Central America. Costa Rica is known as the "Switzerland" of the south, with it's peaceful and loving people.

My 4 day, 3 night Relocation & Retirement  tour can open your eyes and mind to this inexpensive and wonderful lifestyle, where owning a car is optional.

You will learn how to evaluate the actual replacement cost of an existing home so you will know if asking prices for existing places are reasonable.

You will learn how to buy a property and the best way for you to go about building a home on it.

You will learn how to develop your own project for a little added income as well as fun. It is still very possible to do a small project and sell parts for enough to partially or totally pay for your home.

You will learn about rental homes/condos and how there is a lot of opportunity if you want to develop a rental project due to the scarcity of good value rental homes.

¬ My tours are customized to your needs - the search for an inexpensive and exciting location to retire and live off your social security. Of course, you can have more toys and options if you have more than just SS income. We will visit local shops and markets to discover the BETTER and CHEAPER way of living than in the US.

¬ Our travel takes us through RURAL areas where you will experience the warmth and love of life (Pura Vida) of the "Ticos", an affectionate term for Costa Ricans.

¬ You will see for yourself how the Costa Rican Medical System works in the small towns, where prescription medication can cost far less and most are free to residents.

¬ We will also experience the convenience, low cost, and versatility of the rural taxis and buses. You can compare these scenic, fresh air, and friendly rides to your present mode of commuting. A CAR AND ALL ASSOCIATED EXPENSES IS NOT NECESSARY HERE, WALKING SHORT DISTANCES IS HEALTHY!

¬ The tour and your expenses are a write off of your income taxes since you will be here to research your new business.

Sunday DAY 1

7 AM

* Drive through Alajuela typical of areas most familiar to Expats.
* Visit center of Grecia the first town to use as a Benchmark. This is a good place to get Tico crafts for friends.
* Visit Bob & Margaret Silaghi's home project. They are past guests who chose this area.
* Visit both Tourist and Tico Furniture Factories in Sarchi to learn about quality, cost, and variety of furniture.
* Visit Rattan furniture manufacturing shop.
* Pass through Naranjo, another Benchmark town.

Noon

* Lunch at 5,400 feet overlooking Central Valley

After Lunch

* Drive over to San Ramon and visit the very upscale benchmark project - Pedro Salcedo's. www.residenciaslasterrazas.com .
* Check into La Posada Hotel
* Meet past guests and Ben Cart and Jim Mateosky at a party hosted by past guests.

Monday DAY 2

7 AM

* Visit Ben Cart and Jim Mateosky's Benchmark Projects near San Ramon www.iguanalandcompany.com.
* Visit Jim's benchmark Greenhouse and property.
* Drive past Greenhouse and Nurserys in La Garita to see quality & prices.

Noon

Lunch at Princessa Marina Seafood Restaurant

After Lunch

* Visit La Cima Hospital, Multiplaza Shopping Mall
* Optional Drive past Valle del Sol Golf course.
* Drive to Cuidad Colon past Tipico Tico housing development.
* Drive up to Santiago de Puriscal to visit our benchmark homes and watch sunset.

Tuesday DAY 3

7 am

* Breakfast with hosts Patsy & Bob, meet Frank Long and Willy Sharpentier Puriscal Realtors
(Frank was on my FIRST TOUR nearly 6 years ago)
* Visit sample rental house, Dos Vistas, Roman's view property, Frank's Project, and other rent houses in the area.

Noon

After Lunch

* Visit Bank, Pharmacy, Post Office, Clinic, Dentist, Appliance Store, and Grocery.
* Visit La Cima Hospital, Multiplaza Shopping Mall optional.

* Presentation by the best Immigration Attorney in Costa Rica Roberto Umana
* Supper in Escazu overlooking Central Valley & San Jose.

Wednesday DAY 4

7 AM

* Breakfast at Pico Blanco Presentation by Moving specialist Barry Wilson. info@shipcostarica.com
* Drive straight to Orosi Valley to meet Steve Riley of www.paradisepeak.com to see his projects and benchmarks of building.
* Visit Casa del Sonador wood carving shop. This is a good place to get hand carved figures $9
* Drive through Orosi with it’s Hot Springs parks and Mountain Immersion Spanish school.

Noon

* Lunch at Sanchiri Lodge overlooking Orosi Valley.

* After Lunch

* Return to San Jose past Tres Rios, Curridabat, San Pedro, & Multi Plaza Este, one of two of the newest cosmopolitan shopping centers in Costa Rica.
